redbetLIVE at Dragonara, November 2018: Day 1B

Lvl 1 – 25/50 – 6/6 players

Clocked rocked at 14:01 with Miss Jeanelle at the helm. She’s a strict task-master, but the players love her! If you need lessons in being organised at poker tournaments, then come to see Jeanelle!

Lvl 2 – 50/100 – 14/14 players

Afternoon flight picking up whilst the weather is a little bit grey. Perfect November afternoon solution, PLAY POKER!

Lvl 3 – 75/150 – 15/15 players

_mg_7821Play continues into level three with 15 players and it all relaxed here at Dragonara, as it always is. Even Stellato is behaving himself! Wonders never cease.

BREAK – 15 mins

Lvl 4 – 100/200 – 18/18 players

This may be the first time we have reached level four without an elimination; this is especially unexpected as Totti Lind is playing. #BantzOn

Lvl 5 – 100/200/25 – 17/19

We have made it to the introduction of the antes, and this afternoon’s players have decided not to have a big discussion about button or bb antes. Maybe standard antes are not entirely unpopular…?

Okay, disregard the above, the ante discussion happened, and it was beautiful and emotional.

Lvl 6 – 150/300/25 – 18/20 players

Carrying on as it slips into evening here in Malta. As usual the atmosphere is very relaxed and we think it might be about time to order some food.

BREAK – 15 minsredbet live poker dragonara malta november 2018

Lvl 7 – 200/400/50 – 17/21 players

Couple of re-entries. There is flight 1C at 19:30, so there’s no pressure to re-enter the afternoon flight; that said, the structure is pretty mellow, so even sitting down now in level 7 will give you 70 bigs!

Lvl 8 – 250/500/50 – 17/21 players

Last two levels for registration. Day 1 plays to level 12.

Lvl 9 – 300/600/50 – 17/22 players

The day continues as one more player pops in a re-entry. This tournament is a re-entry tournament, but max 1 re-entry per flight.

BREAK – 15 mins

Lvl 10 – 400/800/100 – 16/25 players

Jeanelle Brincat Dragonara Malta Poker November 2018 redbetLast three levels of the day for the 1B players and the 1C players are starting to slowly appear.
We have been discussing with players the idea of getting rid of one of the Day 1s next year, and only having 2 starting days… but then people keep turning up for all three.
If you have any ideas about how you’d like to see the tournament formats be next year, then let us know, because nothing is set in stone yet!

Lvl 11 – 500/1000/100 – 13/25 players

The end of the day is in sight for the day 1B players. Joe Hall, the event photographer, has just arrived to cover the end of one flight and the start of another.

Lvl 12 – 600/1200 – 12/25 players

Exits have slowed down as we enter the last level. Some players take the strategy that it’s go hard or go home at this stage. Some players wanna scrape into Day2 with even a shortstack, because we come back to 800/1600/200 and the levels are 45 mins, there is always hope!
Two of our past winners started Day2 with under 20 bigs… NEVER SURRENDER!!!

10 players made it through from Day 1B to Day 2 which starts at 14:00 on Sunday 25th November- blinds will be 800/1600/100.
